Royal Bin® vs iTouchless: Self-Sealing vs the SensorCan
The iTouchless SensorCan is the default sensor can in American kitchens: a 13-gallon oval can for $84.97, a carbon filter in the lid, and a decade of roundup appearances. iTouchless also makes the pet-proof locking cans the pet lists recommend. What no iTouchless model does is seal the bag. Their own manuals describe bag changes as an entirely manual job with a retainer ring. The Royal Bin® 17L ($199) exists to remove that job: it heat-seals the full bag and loads a fresh one automatically.

Where iTouchless genuinely wins
Price, capacity, and bags. The 13-gallon SensorCan costs $84.97, less than half a Royal Bin®, and "no custom liners required" is their own headline: any standard tall kitchen bag fits. If you have a determined dog, their PetGuard locking lid is purpose-built hardware for that problem, and no Royal Bin® has a lock; we will not pretend a sealed bag is the same thing as a locked lid. For a big, cheap, proven sensor can, iTouchless earned its default status.
The sealing difference
Everything after the lid opens is manual on an iTouchless. Their manuals walk the owner through inserting a bag on the retainer ring and changing it by hand; no model in their range heat-seals a bag or reloads a fresh one. The Royal Bin® automates exactly that half of the chore. The full bag is sealed inside the bin and a fresh bag is loaded from the SmartRing™, so the dirtiest step of trash, tying off a full bag, simply stops happening.
Odor: filter subscription vs sealed bag
iTouchless treats odor with AbsorbX, an activated carbon filter in the lid. Their manuals put replacement at every 3 months, and their store sells refills at $29.95 for two up to $54.95 for six, so figure about $37 to $60 a year in filters, forever. The Royal Bin® has no filter and nothing to replace on a schedule: each full bag is sealed shut, and the odor leaves the house inside it.
Power and warranty
Every iTouchless flagship runs on 4 D batteries (not included) or an AC adapter sold separately; nothing in the range is rechargeable, and the site publishes no battery-life duration. The Royal Bin® recharges over USB-C. On warranty, iTouchless store pages publish no duration (they say purchases are "backed by our official warranty"); their manuals state a one-year limited warranty. Every Royal Bin® carries a lifetime warranty.

FAQ
Does iTouchless make a self-sealing trash can?
No. Based on their own product pages and manuals, no iTouchless model heat-seals the bag or loads a fresh one. Bags sit on a retainer ring and are changed by hand.
What does the iTouchless odor filter cost to run?
The AbsorbX carbon filter is replaced every 3 months per the brand's manuals. Refills on their store run $29.95 for a 2-pack to $54.95 for a 6-pack, about $37 to $60 a year. The Royal Bin® uses no filter; it seals the odor inside each bag.
Which is better for dogs?
For a dog that raids the bin, the iTouchless Pet-Proof models with the PetGuard locking lid are the purpose-built answer, and no Royal Bin® has a locking lid. The Royal Bin® helps differently: bags are sealed shut with the odor inside, and full bags come out closed rather than open and interesting.
What warranty does iTouchless offer?
Their store pages do not publish a duration; their product manuals state a one-year limited warranty (365 days) covering repair or replacement of the lid or part. The Royal Bin® carries a lifetime warranty.
Do iTouchless cans need special bags?
No. Standard tall kitchen bags are the design, and that is a genuine advantage. The Royal Bin® uses SmartRing™ refill rings (about $0.28 to $0.50 per bag) because the sealing and reloading system runs on them.
SensorCan or Royal Bin® for a kitchen?
For capacity and price, the SensorCan. For never tying a bag again, the Royal Bin®: sealing, reloading, touchscreen control, and rechargeable power, against the SensorCan's bigger bin and lower price; and for kitchens and big households, the Royal Bin® Ultra 30L ($349) runs the same sealing system at kitchen size.
